Kate Christensen is a experienced & passionate Sommelier who expands her love of wine as an advocator of the organic, biodynamic, minimal intervention industry in her professional work & her own pop up restaurant business.
Kate has worked for 17 years in the industry at notable restaurants in Australia and overseas in Sommelier roles.
In 2015, Kate and her partner, chef Mal Meiers, created their own pop up concept dining experience Food + Wine pop ups, which showcases their personal and professional philosophies of the celebration of sense of place and the emphasis of seasonal, local food and wine. Following hugely successful pop-ups in Australia, 2017 saw their concept venture abroad for a incredible 9-month ’tour’ to Europe & beyond – in Lagos, Portugal, Tokyo and the south of France.
Kate’s vision is to constantly grow, learn and immerse herself in all things food, wine, providence and process, while always being a strong advocator of authentic wines that speak of truth, sense of place & that are made from the heart.
